East Devon Eagles put in 15 tries to do the double over Exeter Centurions with Eagles three-quarter Rich Cadywould scoring 5 tries and kicking 11 conversions.
Eagles were on the scoresheet in 4 minutes when player coach Tony Emmins scored a well-worked off the training field try under the posts followed by 2 tries under the posts from Cadywould, who also kicked the 3 conversions.
Centurions came back and scored 2 tries from Dan Mountstevens and Brent Ryan with Alex Stevens kicking the conversions, narrowing the score to 18-12 to the Eagles.
Before the half hour, Eagles Mark Wathes, dodging through the Centurions defence, touched down near the posts and Cadywould scored his hat trick try under the posts, again kicking both conversions. Just before half time, Centurions Max Reitmeier scored, Stevens converting, making the score 30-18 to the Eagles at the break.

The second half saw Centurions Reitmeier open the scoring with a try under the posts, converted by Stevens but the Eagles stepped up a gear and produced some fine running rugby for the remaining 35 minutes. Olly Turton scored 2 copy-cat tries in the far corner but the difficult conversions fell short. From a quick penalty Dale Sleeman received the pass to dive in under the posts and Cadywould snaked through the Centurions defence to touchdown under the posts for his 4th try. He again kicked the extra points which put the Eagles on the half century.
Sean Lovett passed the ball to Dave McCarthy who caught the ball mid-air to dive over wide out and 2 minutes later, from the halfway line, Wathes sold a dummy, passed the ball out to Sleeman who returned the ball to Wathes for him to sprint down the left wing and touchdown, Cadywould kicking both conversions.
Following quick play of the ball it was passed along the line for Rich King to score an unconverted try in the far corner but the “Try of the Match” was when Turton caught a high ball, held on and did a forward roll, ran up the wing with King in support, offloaded to King who touched down in the far corner, Cadywould kicking a superb conversion.
From the re-start, Cadywould passed to Sleeman who quickly returned the ball back to Cadywould who made a solo run from halfway to touchdown near the posts for his 5th try, again he added the extras. Just before referee Ian Allison blew for time Jack Downie scored in the corner but the long touchline conversion hit the upright, making the final score East Devon Eagles 82 – Exeter Centurions 24.
There was some sterling defensive play by Eagles Sleeman, Emmins, McCarthy, Luke Kent and Mike Wilson and Man of Steel for the game was given to Sleeman.
