2009 Season - Let Battle Commence
The East Devon Eagles are about to embark on another thrilling season of Rugby League in the South West Division of the Rugby League Conference. The league is made up of the East Devon Eagles who are based at Exmouth, Exeter Centurions, Devon Sharks, Plymouth Titans, Somerset Vikings from Taunton and newcomers South Dorset Giants from Weymouth.
Last season the East Devon Eagles were the RFL Conference South West league winners and Rich Cadywould was recognized as an outstanding player and was awarded the RFL Conference Player of the Year 2008.
Player recruitment for the new season is now underway with training sessions at the Imperial Ground, Exmouth, home of Exmouth RFC, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7pm.
Under player coach Tony Emmins, ex Toulouse loose forward and Lionheart prop, and Captain Dave McCarthy, the Eagles hope once again to soar high and provide excellent rugby league entertainment over the summer months.
The Eagles have good connections with rugby union players in the South West and the coaching team are actively introducing the 13 man code to local Union players.
